Default JL audio stealthbox or custom?

I have an 02 Z06 and am wondering if I should get the JL audio stealthbox that comes with th 10w3D2 sub or have tweeter make me a custom fiberglass box that would hold a JL audio 10W6V2 D4

This will be hooked up to a phoenix gold Ti600.2

Would I notice a big diff between the two? The Jl stealthbox would be around $500 while the custom method would be around $750. Is it worth spending th extra $250?

probably not. You may get a little more power handling because of the better sub, but trust me, its not gonna sound $250 better :D Not to dog tweeter, i work for them myself. If they are doing something a bit more custom than just a box in the well like the stealthbox it may be worth it for a more custom look but otherwise....

Thanks for the info, I think I'll actually be going with one of Mike's S3 boxes with two 10s....just gotta decide which 10s I want....he's got the alpine type R, MTX 8000 and infiniti. Thinking about going with the alpines but I don't really know much about stereo systems. I listen mostly to techno so Mike recommended two 10s instead of a 12 for quicker response which makes sense.

Right now I've got the
Sony MEX-1HD
Phoenix Gold Ti500.4
Boston Pro series 6.5
Boston RX-57 rears
All installed

Then I have but haven't installed:
Phoenix Gold Ti600.2
Two audiobahn 1 farad digital caps

The only thing I have left to get now is the subs

I also need to figure out if I need to get a metal connector to hook up the two caps together or if I just have them each to the an amp seperately.

David, look like you will go with Alpine type R already so I don't have to give you a advise on that ...
Now, for the cap ... look like you just got about 1100 watts RMS and only 600 watts RMS will be used for the subs but I bet ya will crank them all the way up so you just need 1F cap.
People have told me too big cap will draw current as well.
I got 2000 watts and also just need 1F cap and I never see a dim on my lights.
Just my 0.02$
