SOUND DEADENING?
Has any ever used the padding from house carpet in the car to help quiet it?Is it an effective way to quiet down the front of my vert or is something like dynamat worth the investment?

I and others have had good success with this stuff: http://mikemercury.home.att.net/sound.htm
But, it may not be dense enough or expensive enough to tackle high-powered stereo applications.
Whatever you use, make sure it is adhesive backed.
