I remember reading last fall about a new version of the Window Valet that allows for RAP (Retained Accessory Power) for use with aftermarket stereo systems?
Re: What's the progress on the new window valet? (leolufse)
I just sent Top Down Tech a letter about this. Here are both letters, I hope he doesnt mind me posting these:
Hi,
We are working on a module that will provide the RAP function for aftermarket stereos and hope to have it available in the coming months. With your permission, we could contact you when it's available.
Thank you,

I read something on the corvette forum about a product you guys were making. It is supposed to have some sort of (RAP?) control over aftermarket head-units. Is this part being worked on or is it available? Id like to pick one of these up.

I was looking up info on Window Valet and came across this thread... Why wouldn't / doesn't the RAP work with aftermarket stereos? Also has there been any news on when this new version will be out? (it's been almost 2 months since that e-mail)
Re: What's the progress on the new window valet? (cglasse)
the RAP does not work because it is controlled by the BCM. The radio and the bcm "talk" to each other. There is a way to make your own RAP though with two relays or one latching relay...couple of other ways also.
