I'm curious,
I know in many cases brand name alone drives a products price higher, look how much higher most "corvette" parts are even ones that will cross over to other makes,
since highschool "Pyramid" brand car audio has in my circles always been labled total junk,
I see a ton of it on Ebay and at flea markets,
My question is why is it junk, design, materials, ???
Thanks,
P.
Re: why is Pyramid audio considered junk? (The13Bats)
Don't buy anything from Pyramid that has anything electronic in it...amps, crossovers, equalizers, whatever. Run away fromt he electronics. They are overrated, inaccurate, and generally pieces of crap.
However, their subs definately are a good budget option...I have had 2 pairs of them before I had the money to get a good set, and they took the abuse I sent their way, plus the abuse my brother now puts on them.
I hit them with their rated power all day long and never had a problem, and they sounded decent enough while doing it.

Pyramid uses inferior quality parts, inferior quality assembly, inferior quality design, and ratings the amp can't possibly hope to achieve.
If you made a car liek a pyramid amp
it would have axles made of plastic
only 3 wheels would be the same size
the electric sytem would be taped together
it would get 8mpg
it would actually make 70hp, have an engine that appears to be 8 liters and is only 2, and would be rated at 700hp.
