Quick ? about amp wiring kits..

if you have lots of extra power wire can you use it for the ground. The ground wire in the amp kit i'm looking at is only 2 feet long. Are the power and ground wires the same?

I think as long as they are the same gage it should be OK?
Just want to keep it as short as you can.
