My JL Audio 15W5 wasn't blown. I took the system apart to make it a 2 woofer system in a sealed box and when I took the top woofer off, I found the dustcap was half off the cone and it was the source of the "blown sound".
So I ripped the dust cap off completely. It is not needed I hope since I'm running them in a camshell design. I cranked her up and :D , no more rattles  I even took pics I was so happy.
Yes the ports are small but this box was done back in 1991  and was done to JL specs. Isobarik subs was the thing to do back then. It was orignally in my red Eagle Talon TsiAWD. I've never noticed port noise. I know this, you can blow dry your hair with those ports :jester
For awhile I had these four subs in my home set up. I had used 6" diameter PVC ports on those in 6 cubes each
