NO RADIO RECEPTION
I just recently replaced my burned out power antenna on my 92 coupe. The Bose radio got pretty good reception a couple months ago before it broke. I followed the 92 Maintenance Service Manual as best I could. It worked as far as going up when turned on and down when turned off, but NO RECEPTION. I've tried different grounding scenarios, thinking I may have mixed up the wires, but still nothing. If left "on", stations will drift in for a few seconds and then out. My vett has 75K miles on her. Could it be the radio has died or something in the re-installation? Thanks.
If FM is dead, then eithe there is NO connection from the ant to the radio OR the cable or antenna is shorted to ground.
Do you have an Ohm meter or a buddy who does?
Disconnect the antenna cable. Measure the antenna side, you should show and open from the center to the shield. You should have a connection from the center of the coax to the antenna mast.
Good luck,
Barry
