I purchased a 12 disc OEM changer for my 03 Z06. I need some advice. Where in the trunk is the best place to install it? I am getting a stock cable with it, where does this plug in to the radio system? Other than the brackets which I have, the changer and magazine and the cable do I need any other components to make this work?
I have an '02 with a factory installed 12 cd changer that is mounted on the rear wall of the center storage compartment in the trunk. With what you have you shouldn't need any thing else to make it work that I can think of. I would first try it on the floor of the passengers side to make sure everything works before mounting it in the trunk. There may be a connector already in the trunk for a cd changer but I'm not sure. Maybe someone else will chime in. Good luck.......
You'll find writeups by me and two other guys on how to install the Delco changer in a C-5. If you have the bracket, cable, magazines and changer, you're all set.
Hi:
To install the cable for the CD changer take up the cover in the passenger footwell and then look at the very bottom right under the fuse box. You will see a white seal with a plug holding it to the support. That is one of the plugs for the cable for the CD changer. the other plug comes out of the harness at the same place, just pull a bit on the first plug and you will see the second. Other than finding the plugs the install is easy, the hardest is mounting the bracket and drilling holes in your vette!!!
Hope this helps
