Install questions...
hi guys... im getting a 1999 frc delivered to me next week.. right now it has a totally stock sound system in it.. and the head unit is a tape deck.. that will all be getting trashed.. i just have a couple questions.
A: being a non bose system is it just regular speaker wire and no amps or anything from the factory to deal with removing?
B: what size speakers are in the door/rear.. i have read that they have 6.5" in the doors.. then saw people saying they have 8".. kinda confused...
C: i will prolly be going with a alpine head unit, do they make adapters to just plug into the factory harness?

OKay,
A. The 8" in the doors have there own amp
B. The doors have a 8" woofer and a 3 1/2" mid/tweet and the rears are 5 1/4
C. Yes they make adaptors but do yourself a favor and replace the speakers too. IMO, you do NOT need rear speakers. A 6 1/2" componet set will fit in the front doors under the stock grills. You just need to make a baffle or buy one from Mike on the Audio Forum.
