I've tried the search feature to find answers...but it seems to not be working well at the moment. I'm trying to decide between the Commander and the Delphi Roady. Seems like many of you go either way. I have a stock (1 day old ) '04 Z06 and i need XM. I don't plan on doing much in the way of modifiying the system....i just want the best, cleanest looking set-up for the stock system. Thanks for any and all help....
I am in the middle of making my mind up on a head unit also.. im just curious why you chose xm over sirius... dishnet just added 100 sirius channels and its amazing.. i have been leaning their way, just looking for any input
I choose the roady and xm because bigger and I think GM owns xm. Roady is easy to use and install. If you are not going to mod your HU, then you will be using the fm modulator which is easy to use and remove.
I like my XM Commander Unit is in the ashtray area and antenna is inside rear bumper. Works great.

Damn....that's a sweeet system! What kind of HU is that? I'm not against getting a different one, i just don't want to put too much time and $$ into it when i can find better things to do at the moment. Thanks.
GB,
I have AVIC-N1 that I'm installing in my A4. I want to install my head unit in the same location as yours, including the climate control unit. Does your A4 shifter interfere when it slides in and out? Also, is there enough slack in the AC wires to move it up to the top? The AVIC-N1 has a small hide-away unit that I'm thinking of hiding behind the astray slot, its about the size of a single DIN radio, but only half the height.
thanks for your help,
john
I just put the roady in the wifes Jeep Grand Cherokee.....love it. I have an XM Commander for my Vette that goes in this weekend. I don't have to use the FM modulator because my HU has an aux input so I will get CD quality digital.

John,
Sorry it took so long to respond. The screen does very slightly touch the shifter when it is in the "Park" position. No problem when in other positions. I put my hide-a-way unit behind the passenger seat for ease of access to hookup other things to it. Hope this helps
Love my Roady. I take it in all my cars and in my garage. Small and easy to carry. The FM modulator rules! no installation required, just plug it in the cig. lighter and youÂ’re connected. I keep a FM mod. and antenna in all my vehicles and a home adapter in the garage so that I'm never without my XM radio. :flag
