Default Peerless VS JBL

At the moment I am undecided. I am trying to choose between running 3 JBL 4.5" midbasses on each side in my car to boost my midbass, or a single Peerless 6.5". Power handling is roughly the same for the three versus the one when combined, frequency response is about the same, but the triple 4.5's have more displacement(.190L vs .165L). For the same cost, should I go with the triple 4.5" midbasses? I have adequate power for either combination.
Help! This is the first time I've been undecided on something like this but I want to get them ordered today. Currently I am leaning toward the triple JBLs, but I'm not completely sure. BTW the JBLs are 7 bucks a piece on sale, while the peerless is 18 bucks on sale.

Thanks!

Hmmm...I have thought about it a while...and I've decided on the triple 4.5" per side. I just think it will be louder/look cooler.

Besides, I like going against the norm.

I am also going to full active crossovers when I do this, so that should help things a lot too.

it'll look cool

why not a pair of 6.5's on each side, or an 8" ?

I just can't see 4.5s acting as a midbass no matter how many you have...

Well, since they are produced as dedicated midbasses and have an fs of 58 hz, I don't think they will have too many problems. 3 of the 4.5's have more displacement than the 6.5" and 7" drivers I was also looking at, so they should have more potential to get louder.

I just like multiple driver installs, and I am somewhat limited on the amount of depth that I have, and as it is, I am going to end up chopping up most of my door on each side, in addition to building pods. The 4.5's also have a better response in the smallish enclosure that I have room for.

It is gonna look pretty sweet.
