I have a 2001 convert with am-fm cd head unit and 12 disc cd changer. I'm interested in modifying to add an aux input to plug I-pod into.
Anyone ever do themselves or know of a kit? Any help would be appreciated.
the only way for you to use your ipod with the stoch head unit is to go through you cd changer harness, there is a forum member that sells the adapter you need, creat a post in parts f/s and they will respond. the only other way is through an FM modulator, which sucks, horrible sound qulity.
Well it took awhile but I got it done thanks to all the info I rec'd on the forum. I got the AUX-10 and it really plug and play. Just unhooked the CD changer and plugged it into the factory harness .
Only problem is I just found out PAC has an I-pod specific adaptor that allows controll from the head unit (just came out) . Guess I'll have to upgrade

Its an interface unit that plugs in between the stock bose system and an after market head unit. You need it if you want to use you stock speakers, Run a search youll find a ton of info
It looks pretty cool, just need to find an online retailer and a price. Wonder if this can be used with an auxillary splitter so you can have the iPOD and cd changer.
