Default Tweeter placement?

Okay, it looks like we will be ripping out the entire interior of my car in order to install the stereo and the sound deadening materials. Originally, we were just going to put the HD-62ef's completely in the kickpanels. Now, I am wondering if it would sound better to put the mid's in the kick panels and mount the tweets in the A-pillars or something. What do you guys think? A pair of 8" Image Dynamics subs will be going in the rear 6x9 locations. Thanks for the help!

Well this is has been a very interesting subject here on the forum over the past couple of weeks. For "best" sq and imaging the tweeter should be close to the midrange driver. That has to with time alignement and frequency seperation. But some people like the sound of the tweeter up high. Personally I mount all my drivers as close together as possible. Here is my recommendation to you. Install everything but the tweeters. Wire the tweeters to a long piece of speaker wire. Then using dbl sided tape you can move the tweeters around in the car till you find what you like. That will be your best bet...after all it is your car and you have to listen to it and enjoy it.

That's a good suggestion.

I have my midranges and tweets in the dash, with the midbasses in the doors, and I can pick out where the midbass is coming from if I try. Closer = better.
