I decided to install a sub to my factory system and I figured out all the wiring last night except for the trigger wire. Which wire do I need to splice into for the trigger? Please help as my car is still in pieces until I can figure it out. Any help is much appreciated, thanks.
i just watched my b/f install an xm radio system in his c5 a couple weeks ago. he used the green wire that runs into the "radio antenna module"... the diversity control that the front and rear radio antennas feed into to switch on the xm tuner with the c5's stereo.
anyway... it's a little silver box, about the size of a box of matches, attached to the side wall down low near the seat belt anchor on the driver's side of the car sorta "behind/to the side" of the seat. (under the plastic trim panel, of course).
the only thing *i* would warn ya about, on that, was after watching him... and hearing him utter every cuss word i'd ever heard... and a few i think he made up on the spot... that plastic trim was NOT the easiest to get on/off because of the seat belt and seat being in the way. slide the seat as FAR forward as possible and be patient.
ok... dunno if this helps ya, but i hope so. good luck!!!
thanks violet, i went to the dealer and got a pinout just to be sure i didnt splice into the wrong wire. found the right ones on the back of th hu and it sounds great. now just for a lil tunning and it will be done. chevy really made this system way to complicated. If anyone is considering adding a sub to their stock system feel free to shoot me a line and i will try to help, or at least to send the pinout.
