Questions on 87 stereo system
Hi,
I have a some questions that perhaps someone out there could help me with.
1. I am considering buying the Ecklers adapter harness that allows the use of an aftermarket deck and use the Bose amplified speakers. Does this harness really work with the new high tech decks ?
2. I am considering buying an Alpine deck that has XM built in. Being that the ground plane might be a problem, do the new mini antennas work and where do I install it ?
Any help on this would be appreciated.

1..yes the harness will work.
2..When you say ground plane problem...do you mean since the car is fiberglass? The XM antenna does not work like a standard AM/FM antenna and is not externally grounded. So you should have no problems. The new mini antennas work very well. As for a location on your C4..I have not installed sat radio in a C4. But the antenna works through fiberglass. I have installed them in C5's in the rear bumper and under the carpet in the rear hatch with no problems.
