Default Head unit Integration Harness for 99

just bought an Alpine CDA-9815. I was told that i need a bose integration harness for my 99. I go to Circuit City. They tell me I can do without the bose integration and say one of 2 harness will work. Both are Metra Smart Cables. Does anyone have any experience with these? Will this work, what are the complications, etc? thanks for the help

Are changing the headunit only? if you plan to keep the Bose door speakers I believe you will need to get the Bose adapter.

The harness is just a standard GM harness metra part # 70-1858. The harness in your car doesn't have ignition or illumination wires, so you will have to tap a couple wires for them. I use the brown wire on the ignition switch and the yellow(I belive) wire by its self on the climate controls. You also will need an antenna adapter Metra part # 40-GM10.

Hope this helps.
