Default 04 Vert Speaker Advice

I recently replaced my head unit, and added a 10" sub (and mono amp for it) to my radio. I went with the Soundgate adapter and kept the bose speakers. But the sound still sounds funky in the front of the car. Almost as if there are "holes" in the ranges the speakers will produce.

So, time to replace the Bose.

I was looking at some Infinity Kappa 60.5cs' for the front and some Infinity Kappa 52.5i's in the rear. I realize I'll need a mounting plate for the front speakers, but will the rears fit in the stock mounts? I'm unsure how much depth I have back there, and haven't taken it apart yet to see.

Any advice on replacing the speakers in a vert? I've read the two speaker suggestion, but would still like to keep the full set operational.

I've also seen mention of CDT speakers. Where's a good place to get those from? Are they better than the Infinities?

Oh, and I'm probably going to need an amp to drive these. Is there any place in the front of the car to stash an amp so that I don't have to run the lines to the cargo area and then back to the front to the speakers?

Thanks in advance!

It is much more difficult to get SQ from a convertible. You will definately need an amp. Forget about the rear speakers. I'm not a fan of CDT speakers (at least their entry level series). Take a listen to some middle series components like MB Quart P series, or JL XR series. Boston Acoustics, Diamond Audio Hex, and Focal come to mind.

If I belonged to a C5 vert, I'd be looking at a 3 way set up in the front. JL XR653csi is a good choice. Because of the top down driving, you need to get as much midbass and vocals from the front stage as possible. A 3 way component set up is the best way to do that. You need a 2 channel amp in the 125-150 RMS range.
