Something weird happened
My car has had a problem with the AM.Its the deluxe model.I bought it 1year old.The static on AM made the radio useless on that band.Last week I was driving home from work and suddenly it cleared up .It is now working like it should.Can't figure it out .Maybe the car is haunted.Any explanation would be greatly appreciated.

Wow...AM still exists?? 
Many things can and will affect AM reception. Magnetic fields, electronic equipment, power equipment with engines, and even solar flares. This will be hard to pin point. Sorry I could not be of more help
