I did like this guy and tapped the brown wire. However, when I turn the key off, the radio shuts down. Is there another wire I can tap that will keep the new radio's behavior like the stock radio, where it will stay on until the door is opened?

Not really. You are talking about RAP (retained accessory power). It is controlled via the BCM and I personally have not read a way to keep this feature when adding an aftermarket HU. There are however, timer relays you can purchase to set the accessory power to stay on for a certain amount of time after you pull the key from the ignition. The other option is to explore the new window valet which is suppose to replicate this feature.
When I added my HU, there is a wire that you can connect to specifically made for add-ons. It is located above the Passenger side floor compartment. Inside the compartment is the fuse box, and to the left is a computer box of some sort. If you look directly above the box, you will find a three-wire harness that is made for tappin into the battery/ignition system. It is described in the owners manual. I heard that it is not an option on later cars, but mine is a 97 and I have it. Took me about an hour to figure out what why I couldn't find the righjt way to hook up the HU considering I had matched up all the harness wires correctly. Hope this helps-
