Default sound system

I really, really, really love my car, and when I'm not listening to the engine, I enjoy listening to the stereo. However, I'm not really pleased with the sound system. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can upgrade it? I need lots more bass. Thanks!

Have you checked over in the Audio/Electronics section of the Forum for ideas? Good luck finding the system you like.

luvshervetnfl, you can add a sub and amp to your factory system. That will up your bass response. Or you can dump your entire factory system like MyVetteDream did. Adding a sub will cost less and make a nice differance in the way your stereo sounds. Swapping the entire system out can bring your stereo up to a whole new level. You have to decide which is right for you and how much money you want to spend. You can contact me if you want more info at SoundsGr8@hotmail.com.

Default Pac

I have pics of my stereo under my name. I tried the whole PAC thing but always experienced some minor problems with it. It was nice though to add some bass and keep the factory system. But after hearing what a "real" system sounds like, I had to upgrade. If you can afford it, change the factory speakers and radio and go with a nice system, it really improves the driving experience. good luck

Just to add some bass, this would work fine.

Gut it.
I have an alpine deck,
Hifonics 5 channel amp
JL audio components up front
JL 2 ways in the back
JL audio stealth box sub

It pounds, and is clear as day.

Good luck

I went to Best Buy this weekend to do exactly this. They had a module ($29)that can just be spliced into the existing speaker wire, then an amp/sub can be added?? Would like to see your pics and if this is what they were talking about.

That 'module' scares me. I have a feeling its a line output converter. Not to mention they can be had for about $5. let me guess, it looks like a little box with RCA's coming out and 4 speaker leads along with (possibly) a power and ground wire? I would definately suggest geting the PAC adapter instead.

I actually had a AVIC-N1 installed (by myself) in my '04 Coupe with the soundgate adapter. After hours of tweaking and playing i couldn't get the system to perform the way i thought it should sound so i went back to stock. Now, i never replaced the amps or speakers, i was only using the headunit with the soundgate adapter to interface with the stock Bose system (that was probbaly my problem ).

Good luck with whatever route you choose!
