nedd some input on tweeters i ordered a set of 3way components 6.5 midbass, 4 midrange , 1 tweeter cdt audio brand
well i got an email regarding what tweeter did i want with the set silk or titanium
whats the better one to go with and what kind of highs will be produced by each need to know by tomorrow so they can ship them
like i said
silk or titanium pros and cons of each
Silk tend to sound dark and maybe a little undetailed. They are typically very smooth. I know CDTs silk are laid back.
Metal tweeters tend to be a little more detailed, some would consider them harsh or shrill sounding. They are brighter and more present than silk, typically.

It really depends on your preference and type of music you listen to. As a general rule, if you listen to music with high frequencies already like heavy metal, female vocals, or jazz, I'd go with the silks, although the CTD silks are way too laid back for my tastes.
If you listen to classic rock, R&b, painio, or similar, I'd go with the titanium to bring out the detail.
I like silk, because you put it in, it sounds fine. Metal tweeters, its a little harder to make them sound perfect if you end up getting harshness out of them.
My current tweeters are focal utopia Tn51, which can be fairly harsh if used incorrectly. But with the right install, I'd go with metal... just from what I've heard.
ill be mounting them in the doors in the factory spots probably using angled rings to image them a little better what would you suggest as far as angles go also i listen to almost everything with the exception of classical
i have the means to make pretty much anything so what exactly would you consider proper placement for the tweeter
ill be backing this component set with a pioneer premier x720
and also a single 12" for the low end with another premier x 720
i know as far as imaging goes the idea is to get the left and right side distance as equal as possible but thinking its gonna be harder to do it
in the doors
however i hear the cdt components do a good job of blending from left to right already
so what would you go with silk or titanium
also i want everything to blend seamlessly highs mids lows
perfect tonal balance nothing that stands out (too much bass or highs too loud)
any suggestions (angling drivers tweeter placement etc)
thanks in advance
i ended up with the titaniumtweeters anyways girlfriend ordered them for me and talked to salesman and he said the same as everyone else unless you listen to classical go with the titanium
so there you go
titanium it is
now how about mounting them on angled rings good or bad idea
