i actually set the gain by cdt's instructions flat on the adjustment
volume of head unit at 90% and adjusted gain just before distortion starts
also on that paticular amp the gain has a spot labelled norm the manual says not to go above that unless the preouts are 4 volts or higher and my gain setting is approximately 60% of the way to norm
I made some bandaid smell of my own last nigh, while running WinISD in the signal generator mode to a Kicker L7 10" DVC with about 200 watts to it. I sent it a 10 Hz tone and it really didnt appreciate it, and I got the "bandaid" smell as well. This is a brand new speaker, so it was expected.
