I have a 2004 Coupe and am looking for the CD Changer wiring harness in the trunk. Before I rip up all the carpeting, can anyone give me a hint or picture of where to look? I want to attach an IPOD interface. I took a quick look and feel in the 3 hatched compartments but did not find it. Should I look on Driver side, Passenger Side, Center, etc?
Thanks for your help.

If you don't have the 12 disk changer in the trunk then I think what you're looking for is in the passenger footwell under the removable carpet, next to the fuse panel. It should be a 4 connector plug with black, green/wht stp. tan/wht strp, and bare busswire.
To connect your iPod directly, you'll need both the cable that would have run to the back hatch area if you had a factory CD player, and an adaptor that "fakes out" your HU to believe a CD player is attached.
Together, that's about $150. You'll also need an iPod interface that will give you RCA outputs for your iPod. I recommend this one, which also charges your iPod:
I buried both of these in my dash, and have just the iPod interface cable visible.
When I looked at the cost of this, combined with my dissatisfaction with the factory stereo, I decided to replace the entire system. I direct connected my iPod to my Sony HU using the Belkin connector and it sounds/works great.

the car is not pre wired with the changer harness in the trunk, the connectors for the changer harness are in the passenger side footwell.
I just hooked my Rio Karma up to the factory HU using the AUX-10 (I had the factory CD changer in the back well). It was easy and it sounds AWESOME. The RIO has a couple of 5 band equalizers (regular and parametric) and I can get a ton of bass from the stock unit.

Do you know the purpose of each of these wires? i.e. power, left/right audio, ground
