caps
thanks in advance
Caps...a few years old, you should have absoutely no problems. Caps can last forever, I have a console stereo (tubes) from WWII times and the caps are still fine.
As for the resistor, it is there to DISCHARGE the cap and for storage. In the USAF, we HAD to keep the positive and negitive connected. Even though the caps were not connected to equipment, not even one wire, we had so much RF around, the caps would charge on their own. A lot of those caps could easily send you into defib and hence, possibly die. The would sound louder than a shotgun when discharged on the run, just about chit your pants loud.
PS With 5 years in USAF electronics, I glow at night and my daughter has 3 arms
oh well, now im tired of typing it out again
Basically, dont need to charge your caps.
THE END.
