Do i really have to drill a hole through the bottom of the cargo area? ? Won't the latches hold the box in place?
What kind of amp should i run with this sub... It is the 10" JL audio sub that the box is made for i think...
Thanks guys
I'm dropping in a 10 inch dual voice coil JL as well into a box a local retailer is making.......I believe the latches will do the job, heck, the weight of the box/sub is enough to keep it steady....I'll be adding the Alpine VPower mono amp (350W X 1 into four ohms)...good luck on yours as well

It's not necessary to drill holes in the back to mount the box, as you have to unbolt the latches to install the box. The latches should hold it in. I guess it's just for safety precautions, so they wouldn't be held liable in a wreck if it comes flying out. As said earlier, the weight should also help in keeping it in place. The reason I say this is because I knew of someone who didn't bolt his in, and all has been well.

For now i am not upgrading my stereo system.. I just want to add this sub to my OEM bose... Is this possible... what will i need to do? I thought i saw a thread awhile back talking about some adaptor that was needed for this to work... can someone clearify this for me? I am guessing i will have to splice into the rear speaker wires... by doing this wont i get some feedback noise?

you'll need an oem interface, try pac audio or do a search on the forum for some other brands. i believe they have corvette specific models that dont require you to cut into any wires but i could be wrong because i have never used one.

Speakers usually dont have enough effeciency to act well as a feedback inducer to an amplifer, and especially at such a low impedience. and your amplifier has basically "filtration" circuits in it (simple explanation, no reason to overcomplicate it) . There are inline stock adaptors to line level imputs for aftermarket amplifiers, as you well know. Perhaps someone with a model such as yours will chime in and tell them what they used. Or perhaps, a forum specific search on "bose adapter" might yeild results in your favor.
