Gonna throw a spanner in the works! I've had Focal and Dynaudio's. Also had MB Quarts. Competition series really rocks with great laid back sound and attention to detail. Thought the Quarts had supperb build quality also. Well worth a listen. If not Focal. Amp selection also critical. A crap amp will make even the best speakers sound bad.
Was thinkihg about MB also, but I heard they are really harsh on the tweeter side.Going to try and find a place locally that has them so I can test listen.Going to power them with a JL 300/2 or a Phoenix Gold Ti300.2.
Remember, MB Quart was bought out by Rockford Fosgate, so you're really buying Rockford stuff now. Allthough, im sure they're still stamping out older MBQ speakers designs for a while. I havent seen anything really new from those guys in a while.
Look into some Seas Lotus References! ($900 a set) I cant possibly think why a set of componants cost so much. It sure isnt for the materials. Maybe its the import tax, since they're made in Norway.

oh, in that case, i'll pick up a set at Walmart later today.
For that much money, it better sound like when I play a "No Doubt" song, the singer will sound like she opens my passenger door, sits down, pulls down my zipper, and.......uhmmmm nevermind.
