Probably going to try first auto-X this sat. I'm concerned that the B&B bullets on my otherwise stock C6 will be too loud. I noticed two weeks ago at the pro tour that some of the guys were using a single turn-down or a supertrap stuck into one pipe to "change the resonance frequency" (i was told) and allow them to run but none of these were C6s with bullets. Anyone with experience? will I have to blow off work tomorrow and reinstall the stock exhaust - don't want to as I love the ROAR of the bullets. Yeah OK a little rednecky on my part
i ran them awhile on my '02 ZO-6
meter said 101 db to loud...for roebling and other places with restrictions... wait till they make you quiet the car!!!

I would just let 'er rip if it weren't for the fact that when I bought my helmet yesterday the store owner, who is part of local SCCA, said that anything over 100 db was "on the trailer and don't come back". I guess the people paying for a beautiful view overlooking I-8 don't want race car noise. .....as if the freeway was a library.

You can get a db check at an SCCA inspection station I think.
The same thing happened at Laguna, a bunch of pr*cks built expensive homes near the track in the canyon and now they don't like the noise. It is really hard to get even a stock unmodified car to make sound there now... It was better when Ord was an artillery and tank base before it closed... Howitzers are a bit more than 100 Db

Steve if your car pass the CARB laws their in CA, I dont think you will have a sound problem.
a 100+dbs is LT headers, no cats and straight pipes
San Diego has a 93 db limit at 50', has nothing to do with CARB it is the deal we have with the site owners. I know a C5 Z06 with Borla cat back is right on the limit and the same car with a B&B bullet is over. Not sure if that helps you. If you go over 93 db they give you a DNF for that run and if you make a change to the exhaust you can run again. Go over a second time you are done for the day. If you show up with a car that is over 100 db @ 50' there is no 2nd chance, you are done for the day.
If you are in doubt put your stock exhaust back on. You could try to go by on a Saturday when they have a practice and ask if you can have your car checked. However keep in mind the course and where the meter is located are different every time, so every event your sound level can change. If you are close to 93 db better to make a change. My car will hit 89-91 db depending on the weather and meter location.
