Time to buy stuff! Recommendations?
Hello,
I'll be taking everyone's advice here and slowing upgrading the car's suspension, brakes, hp, etc.
I'd like everything that I buy to be able to grow with me. I'd hate to have to throw things out or sell them.
With that in mind, I'd like to start off with seat belts (5 point?) harness and cross bar with a camera mount for my FRC.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

I'm a fan of the Hardbar stuff. Modular and grows with you. They have the harness bar, lap belt mount, camera mount, and they're a dealer for TeamTech harnesses. They also have a mount for race seats -- not sure if they carry actual seats or not, though. So almost one stop shopping, and they're a support vendor here!

If you're referring to the driving history, most of my racing has been uhm.. closed course
My Corvette before this one was a 2002 supercharged convertible.. then 434 LS6 stroker and N20. That car was mostly for highway runs and some 1/4 mile runs. At best the car made 680+rwhp.
I decided to get an FRC so I could have more legal fun on the track.
Aspirations? Well.. I just want to have FUN! Get on a track, improve my driving skills and be able to flog the car legally
Perhaps race once or twice a month, weather permitting, of course.
I hope I'm answering your questions.. If you want more specific answers, feel free to ask!

First off - seat time on track plus good brake fluid and pads. The sticky is a good reference. After a little bit - cooling (brakes and oil to start off), seats/harnesses/harness bar or roll bar, tires, more cooling (tranny/diff), suspension (coil overs or VBP springs and possibly bars), and it goes on from there until you have a c6r.

A continuing odyssey ...
I run NCCC stock class for autoX and time trials
First track session iat Pocono (short course) in '04
TechII flush and replace with Motul 600 RBF
Speedbleeders installed
(I also employ Ranger's clutch MC "suck and fill" cycling and use DOT4 Motul in clutch; also cycling Valvoline synthetic blend PS fluid in same manner)
Use AMSOIL for track events ... 10/40 when hot; 0w30 in spring and fall.
2 bottles water wetter in coolant
Fire extinguisher
DRM Brake ducts
Phoenix spindle mounts
SCAT silicone tubing
K&N air filter; cut stock air box opening larger.
Stoptech SS covered brake lines
titanium backing plates
Amsoil synthetic in Trans & Diff
Odyssey 925MJT battery & aluminum hold-down (26 lbs total)
Lowered on stock bolts
Bought a set of stock rims in '05, another 2 fronts in '05 and another set of rims in '06 (now have street, AutoX and track sets, with two spare fronts ... prolly carry track tires on them)
Hawk HP + pads (last year)
'04 C4Z shocks
Carbotech XP10/8 pads
new front rotors (NAPA)
Nitto 555RII's for track (stock rims)
Still have to use stock sizes for NCCC events
Scheduled:
Install B/K Fire Ext mount
4 pt fabricated roll bar installed in June.
Planned:
Seats
5 pt harness
Radiator with integrated EOC
Wish list:
trailer
tow vehicle
trans & diff coolers
tunnel plate
CAI
Headers
See what happens ... ? (and all I want to do is go to the track and do DE's and occasional TT's !)
Sunday, June 3 will be my 15th track day, not counting 2 days of time trials yearly since '04 ... )

We ran our '99 FRC stone stock for ~15,000 track miles except for a Corbeau drivers seat, tires and pads. About halway through last year the exhaust system broke (wheel hop at Jackson dragstrip) so we added a Dynotech header system - in hindsight I think a stock system is easier to work on the car.
With 130,000 on the clock it was a little tired so we just rebuilt the suspension with VBP components. We also added a Dewitt EOC radiator, RPM transmission, hardbar bushings and studs, and maintenance items since I was already in there...
