Default What is a reasonable EGT on the C5/6's

We have has some issues with Jet-Hot coating on our SRF Stainless Steel headers. They claim the exhaust got well over 1500 degrees ... I don't really want to think that is true .... PD hot. Runs fine.

What is considered a normal EGT range for a performance engine?

Totally depends on where you measure it. If you had a severe timing retard, such that a stoic flame was actually exiting the head (which I doubt), it could get probably close to 1500, but that's about the only feasible way I can see it happening.

HTH, and have a good one,
Mike
