Joel, why is it that every year there always seems to be something I just gotta have!!?? I SO want one! Also, one can get the LS3 with the hotcam (485HP) installed by GM on the crate deal.
John -Shortblock is at Katech - Value 427 shortblock with Billet mains.
I'm waiting on Spintron of a newer cam they've developed for LS7 heads/LS7 intake. If the dynamics look good on the Spintron then I'll probably go with the new cam (If the LSA is narrow )
Then they'll assemble and Dyno. Then they ship - or more likely I'll go pick it up.

Hot Damn! That car of yours was fast enough, and you want more????

485 hp and a warranty Arte Unbelievable.
Would you have thought it possible 15 years ago??
Excellent, hopefully in 6 months they will be discounting them to the $5600 range that the LS2's are at. Either way you look at it $6200 for an all aluminum 430hp engine is one heck of a deal. 10 years ago that was unheard of. What does a Donovan or Rodeck block cost, 3 or 4K? LS3's are a great deal.
A Spintron is a tool that checks valvetrain dynamics using sensors and an electric motor to spin an engine with a full valvetrain installed. They can check durability, vibrations, harmonics, true motion, etc.
Len - I doubt I'll ever be done with the car. Soon I hope to be done with the engine...for now.
I'm in the same boat as John...........the economy.
John - Katech runs every cam they sell on a Spintron. Testing for durability basically. In fact they won't sell it to us unless it's tested....amazing company. If they put a longblock together then they have to dyno it. Every longblock from Katech is dyno'd - of course the customer pays an additional fee for the dyno.
