I paid $385 for about 3-4hrs and feel that is too much money, but the company runs a tight ship and I had more than enough track time.
It was my first day back from a long long break and they wanted me to run with a $125 instructor for 50 minutes (broke into 2 sessions) and the track fee was $260.
I recall going with clubs where the fees were anywhere from $125 to $175 and instruction for free.
I don't feel ripped because I knew about the costs up front and I "HAD" to try out my new '08 ASAP.
I know this is somewhat of a personal question, but how much are you all paying for a day of lapping and how much track time do you get?
Sounds about right except for the instructor fee. Hopefully you won't have to pay that next time. Hope you enjoyed it though. I paid $375 for 1 day at Rd Atl with Barber(RAPISTS) because I thought it would be my last chance to do that track. Fortunately someone else has signed on.
I think its well worth the money, that was pretty much my point.
Then I misunderstood.
Yes, it is nice to mention on your way into a class room session that
the pedal is pulsing and you think you have warped a rotor and then
come out for the next track session to find that the brakes have been
done.

most events here are 200 on the cheaper side and 300 on the upper for about 80-100 minutes of running. I would guess 275 is the most prevalent. I guess with all the consumables and towing it's really about 1,000 per day with everything thrown in. Because of fuel all the consumables I think will go up real fast soon.
Rental of great track $10,000 / day x 2 days = $20,000
( this is during the week too )
$20,000 track rental
$ 1,500 a few extra emergency personal and ambulance
$ 2,500 for two days of Insurance
$ 2,000 t shirts for participants
$ 1,500 Lunch for Instructors
$2,000 misc
---------
$29,500 total
Lets call it $30,000 for two day track rental ( again during the week )
Run groups at 10-13 cars per mile
2.5 mile track = 33 cars per run group
3 groups of students = 100 cars
Instructors dont pay for track time
so $30,000 / 100 students = $300 each plus the club needs money in reserve, ( to rent a track a 15 to 20% deposit is needed at time the track is rented many months in advance
so an extra $75 per student or $375 event fee per student
4 run groups at 25 min each or 3 run sessions per day or 75 min per day total 150 min for two days.
so two days = 6 run groups $375/6 runs = $62.50 per run session
Most events on the east coast are in the $375 to $450 price range.
Some as high as $700 for less students per run group or more expesive tracks on weekends
Some events are more or less depending on student population, rental costs, how long you can use the track each day and so forth

Up here in our little Area Nasa HPDE and TT events are around 300 for a weekend and ever some of the club events are in the 300-350 range. But the one track here runs a fast friday laping day for about 200 dollars for a lapping day they do allow instruction just on the first friday of the month
Granted there is not the big spectacular numbers at the tracks up here like some of you guys do
