Your Favorite Read on Competition Driving??
Before attending Spring Mountain in the spring, I read Skip Barber's Going Faster. It was a big help for someone with little performance driving experience. Being familiar with the theory behind what the instructors were teaching was like getting a head start on things. Through my 3 DE's since then, I've read Ross Bentley's Speed Secrets, helpful again as I've started to make sense of what's going on while on the track and with my car. I know there's no substitute for seat time, but I'm interested in what books you've found helpful as your driving technique has progressed. Thanks.

I read Bentley's SS 1, then started SS2, and saw frequent references to "Inner Speed Secrets" ... so I bought and read that, and then went back to finish SS2.
I found "Inner Speed Secrets" to be a treasure of insight into performance and performance conditioning for ANY endeavor ...
I think I know WHAT to do ... I need the mental discipline, psychomotor conditioning, and seat time to actualize the theory.
I've got Bentley's SS 3, Carroll Smith's Drive to Win, and Lopez "Going Faster" on the shelf ...

+1 for Bentley's SS1 and SS2, but that's all I've read. Several of these others are on my list though. I'm working to digest what I've read and conciously apply it to my driving at this point - it's proving tough but valuable so far.

I've found it helpful to concentrate on just one or two points at a time with my limited experience. If not, it's easy to lose concentration. Bentley's SS#12 "Smooth is Fast" is what I've been working on most recently. Got two of Carroll Smith's books on the way from Amazon now.
Anyone else?

^^^^^^Considered by many to be the definitive masterpiece - I have it, but have only looked at parts of it.
