Other then residents, it really doesnt effect others. They can request a permit to travel through the state but thats about all if your legal in your state. In nevada they offer a class non cdl license, which I have. I pull a 50 ft GN at a 64'9 overall weight at greater then 26k lbs. Truck and trailer is tagged for a possible 26500, which is what caused the class a license requirement, even though I ussually scale 25500, but last time I scaled I was 26160 and legal on all axles.

NC Leos have a habit of pulling over anyone.

But this would make only a class C lic for these vehicles not the current Class B over 26,000

The bad news is that nobody ENFORCING the laws has any idea what it already legal, and I don't think this will necessarily help matters. I've talked to troopers and DMV inspectors many times over the years, and none of them know what's legal, but they'll tell you what their opinion is.

I have a CDL...just in case.

Here in Cali, I hear most people try to avoid CDL at all costs. The reason is that all traffic penalties are much more severe if you hold a CDL, even if you are just driving your regular car.

That is what I was thinking, a Class B lic.

Haven't been stopped yet but mine is titled as an RV and doesn't exceed the combined total of 70 feet for interstate use so supposedly a regular drivers license is good.

Since most of the big dollar Class A motorhomes are longer than mine and I see them on the road all time I'm not too worried.
