Default Quick C5 Trailering Question

I have to trailer my 02 C5 coupe in a few weeks and I have a quick question about tie-down points.

The use of T-hooks is NOT an option for this particular trip. The car is lowered and I have a pair of aluminum rub stips attached to the underside that cover the factory holes.

The total distance will be about 60 miles round trip and most of the trip will be on the freeway.

So what would be suitable locations for attaching tie-down straps?? I have a set of 10K lb straps I use on my 87 so the length and strength of the straps will work. I also have some axle straps.

Lower control arms, or one of the over the wheel jobs that Uhaul uses

The car has OEM Z06 wheels and with it being lowered (all the way down on the stock bolts), the straps would have to go thru the wheel at almost the bottom of the wheel. There is no way to go thru the wheel if the straps have to be at something like a 3 or 4 o'clock position where they would be in a straight line to the D-rings on my trailer. The rings are at the forward outside edges of the trailer frame

Could I use the steel curb bars that are under the front of the car?

Going through the wheels would also rub the finish off the wheels. T Hooks are preferrable but if you can't easily remove the strips covering the shipping slots use the lower control arms.

Those curb bars are part of the radiator support bracket. Do not use them if you plan on applying a lot of pressure on the straps.

I go through the lower control arm in the front and hook to the cradle in the rear.

The curb bars are pretty flimsy stuff imo.

First couple of time I towed mine I hooked onto the lower a-arm near the mounting point.
Now I use the t-hooks.
