Default autox in houston

Anyone on CF do autox solo in Houston?

Have been thinking about checking it out, and eventually running my C5 in it....

Found the SCCA forum for Houston, but not much activity on there....

What events happen in Houston?

What would it take for me to run my C5?

Only mods are vararam, headers, borla touring, tune, running nitto 555 tires right now (300 treadwear)

There are lots of groups in Houston running AX events. Houston SCCA, Lone Star PCA, Houston BMW, and others. Check out http://www.dlbracing.com/

Also, up in College Station, the Texas A&M Sports Car Club runs events on the largest concrete surface in the state. http://www.tamscc.org

C5's make excellent auto-x cars. To run, just show up with money, helmet (most groups have loaners if you don't have one), and a car that will pass tech (remove all loose items, no fluid leaks, all lug nuts, battery held down, etc).

Check out this link.

Look at the event at Grand Sport Speedway. Link to flyer is in first column.

Just so you know before hand to compare to simmilar cars:
If you have a regular C5, those mods will put you into the 2H class
If you have a C5Z06, you would be in class 2J.

I don't know how they do it down ther in the south, but if you are not a NCCC member, they should let you run as a guest.

If he is running is SCCA Solo, Sounds like a underprepped ASP (A Street Prepared car). Definately not a SS (Superstock) car. Check with the SCCA Solo rules.

Check the San Jacinto Corvette Club. They do quite a bit of it.

I did my first track event with SJCC recently - no experience and a car similar to yours -- had GREAT fun - highly recommend it.
