Default World Challenge Moves to VERSUS Network in 2010

http://sccaforums.com/forums/thread/397816.aspx

paulgauzens:

The story is at: http://www.scca.com/newsarticle.aspx?hub=4&news=3848

There are several advantages - weekend show slotting + more coverage + 90 minute shows + tie-ins with IndyCar dates. Not to dis SPEED but they have really moved away from motorsports unless it's NASCAR related.
Not that I've ever heard of the Versus Network

If there is enough interest to come up with a reality show about a company that makes wedding cakes, there HAS to be enough interest to show real racing

wow, I didn't realize they lost their Title Sponsor. It's been the SPEED World Challenge since at least the late 90's. Not that I love SPEED, but that can't be a good sign.

I think they lost SPEED as there title sponsor a year or 2 ago. SPEED has just been used synonymously with the series name for reason you stated; free publicity for SPEED, so they didn't say anything

VERSUS is owned by Comcast. DirecTV is currently in a huge fight and dropped VERSUS earlier this year. Sucks for me doubly now since VS also has some of the NHL games this season...

Well, that sucks. I won't get to watch any of the races since DirectTV dropped the channel because VS demanded a higher wage.

Not available where I live. The only two options for us are directtv and Dish network. We have had directtv since 1996.
