the rollbar thing is a bummer.........while I'm not one to skimp on safety, Corvettes have excellent roll-over protection and it would be great to be able to run THSCC time trial in the C6Z without spending a ton of money on the aluminum frame roll bar conundrum.

I agree on safety - and I was in a caged car with a Hans on my last excursion. Vettes (especially the FRCs) have excellent rollover and a 4pt really does very little (I would say nothing but it has help somehow - they look cool) to improve safety. I think THSCC and SCCA accept bolt in 4 pts.

Not entirely true about a bolt in. Better research the rules first. I just tried to see if the bolt-in bar offered by two suppliers, (PFADT was one and got involved with me) would be acceptable as I wanted to run TT in the SCCA May event at RD. ATL. We felt it would not pass inspection. The SCCA has specific guidlines for TT Track events. PDX and club events allow less safety protection. Hill Climbs require a cage, etc.

For THSCC, we accept bolt-in 4pt bars.
So as to not derail this thread, I prefer not to get the conversation started on why THSCC requires 4pt bolt-in bars for TT and NASA does not and SCCA requires something else. Every organization has to draw the line somewhere and that is where it currently stands.

in the sat thunder race, one of the SU stock cars came through the kink on lap 2 or 3 sideways, and I mean sideways. nice piece of driving
thunder race was fun to watch. mike werner needed 1 more pint of fuel, he must hire the same fuel calculation guy I use

a 4-point bolted to the FRAME is certainly helpful, but most (like the autopower, early Kirks) bolt/weld to the fuel bulkhead. If you rolled hard enough to crush the OEM b-pillar, you would likely just punch the bar down through the bulkhead and into the fuel tanks.
CMP uses a LOT of fuel. When I raced T1 10 years ago, I had a conservative fuel calculation that left me plenty of fuel at Sebring, Roebling, Rd Atlanta, VIR etc. At CMP, I started having fuel starvation 3 laps from the end of the race, and was PASSED for the overall victory on the last turn of the last lap due to running out of fuel. In my Vette, CMP used significantly more fuel than any other track.

I started Sunday's 40-minute race with just a touch over 3/4 of a tank, and ended with about 1/8 of a tank. I short shifted a bunch and ran 5-th gear a couple of times to cool the motor off. If I'd gone full bore the whole time, I'd have probably run out of fuel.
Mike Werner was on fumes when he finished Saturday's race.
I think the high temps over the weekend made the engines thirstier. I didn't have those issues in February.

I will try to get video up this weekend. I have some of the dust cloud from the Look Ma no wheel off!
I don't seem to have any of EvoCool
This was my first weekend in TT and I must say it was a blast. The track was very greasy or it may have been the heat and those NT-01s.

Unless you had it pointed backwards.... I was hot on your tail the first session Sunday until we ran into Viper traffic. You got by him but I had no power to take the Viper. Lost momentum after that. The only way I was going to take you was to try to out-brake you and much like my driving skills this weekend, did not have enough brakes or talent to make such a move....
You should have put on the "good" tires rather than listen to the sand-man.... (But obviously, you didn't need it to take me :o)
