Default need help rebuilding LS2 componets

I need to rebuild my ls2 motor that i had in my track only c6 i Hurt it when i put on sticky tires .. it looks like we starved the motor of oil.. found some metal in the filter.. after a day at Sebring

looking for input on what crank, Rods and piston ?
it will be a track only motor so i think i would like better bottom end components....

any input would be greatly appreciated...

Calies crank, and Rods

Mahal flat top Pistons.

put in a 10qt dry sump, Dailey would be a good choice.

Good Luck

Dailey Engineering systems are widely used in Grand Am Rolex and ALMS and by Katech and other engine builders.

ARE and AVIAID also make quality dry sump systems for LS motors and they are also well used by pro racing teams.

I believe that both ARE and AVIAID have systems that are a bit more affordable for the club racer.

We use a scavenge only type system on our Corvette built to Rolex GT rules. We just club race it, however. It uses a Barnes scavenge pump, modified stock LS6 pressure pump, and an ARE pan. Works great and was not super expensive. (about 2000 with aeroquip lines and a good used tank). We already had the ATI damper and pulley.

If you are gonna go much above 500 flywheel HP you should consider going to a full dry sump system.

Callies crank, Oliver rods (Callies are excellent as well), JE, Wiseco, or Mahle all make a quality piston. ARE dry sump is about $3000 and is a nice system (Davies is about twice that much).

Unless you are planning on increasing horsepower, the stock GM crank and rods are fine and far less expensive. Pistons are the weak link in rotating assembly.

I have one, but going to hold on to it for now.

I would call ARE or AVIAID, If I was in the market for a good club racing system. Maybe get your own used 3 gal tank and save some money.

Aviaid also converts LS2 pans to dry sump pans, so if you already have an LS2 pan for a core it might save you some money.

It's like everything in life how much money do you want to spent and how realiable do you want it.

Callies 4340 Forged Steel Crank
Callies 4340 Forged Rods
ARP 2000 Rod Bolts
Diamond Forged Pistons with Anti-Friction Coating
Clevite H seires Coated Main and Rod Bearings
Mahle Plasma Performance Rings
Comp Cam Hydraulic Roller
Cloyes Billet Roller Hex Adjust with HD Z chain (important don't cheap out here)
ATI Performance SFI Damper with ARP Damaper Bolt (Go cheaper elsewhere not here use only ATI Damper)
Aviaid or ARE Dry sump system with pan and large sump.
That will make a very strong bottom end we can talk heads later.

Manny, sorry to hear about the motor. Hopefully you can get it fixed soon and get back out there. If you need any help, send me a text. If my schedule lines up with yours, I'd be glad to help you.
