NCCAR in NC, worth a 7 hour drive to run there?
I just got a call about TT4C, they are running NCCAR this weekend, Sat and Sun. Weather is supposed to be nice, has anyone ever been there? I thought my season was done, but the car is still loaded up and I got tires and brakes so why not. Is it worth the 7 hour drive?

For the first time there? Maybe. For a return trip? No.
If you still have a lot to learn, definitely. NCCAR is a very good track to concentrate on transitions as well as constant radius rotation and throttle control.

That's what I was thinking, looks like a lot of time on the gas while turning, which is really something I need to practice. I'll have to think it over, Sun is gonna be on the cold side.

I went last year and it was 7 hours for me as well.
I was NOT looking forward to it as I was only going to collect championship points.
BUT...I was pleasantly surprised at how fun the track was and I'm glad that I went. Other than that really stupid "drift pad" section in the middle of the track, it was a lot of fun. There are a few high speed transitions and some really technical slow speed stuff as well.
We ran counter clockwise and I loved the last corner leading to the front straight. It's one of those 'hang your ***** out the window' corners that really tests you as a driver and your setup.
I'd post some video, but my camera was out of focus the entire lap that it was running. I can try to dig it up though if you want.
BTW - if you lose it in the skid pad section, you're sure to have extensive damage as the steel armco is about 7 inches from the edge of the track surface.
Oh - and it's hard on tires as well.

I thought it was a fun track to drive. I went 2 years ago and learned a lot with throttle control. The track is very wide so there is plenty of room. I don't think I'll run there again unless it is discounted in price. I wore out my tires pretty bad due to the drifting on that huge skid pad in the middle of the track. It wasn't bad on brake pads. Give it a try.

I enjoyed driving there, like Roebling Rd. Much better than CMP, but can't compare it to Rd Atlanta or VIR. It's really close to the Interstate, so it's a pretty easy driver for most.....
