Default Front Tow Hook

Does anyone make a front folding tow hook for the C6? I have seen C5's and C7's with them.

Sparco Tow Strap is $15. You'll never smack your shin into it. I use them front and rear.

I have an LG that is removable, so it doesn't stay in when not at the track. Not the easiest install, as you have to remove the front bumper, but I like that it doesn't always have to be in place.

A link to install instructions.

You drill a hole and bolt it to your bumper. At least that's what I do. You have to remove the bumper to do it, but I don't think there is any tow device that can be installed without removing the bumper.

I have not found one that installs without the removal of the front bumper. I don't mind doing that, I was just hoping for one that allows the hook part to fold down. I have seen them on C5's and they make them for the C7, but not the C6.

The LG tow hook is nice because you just un-thread it when not in use and nothing is sticking out the front of the car.

I wonder if the C7 folding hook would thread into the LG base?

Do you have any pictures of one installed? I have my bumper off now looking to see how it would look through the bumper. I bought a PFADT front and I thought rear but ......another story. The pictures I have seen of the front really don't stick out far enough to use the 1 1/2" hole. I was going to bolt on a 2" nylon strap like Sparco or racetech. any information and image would be greatly appreciated

That's what I did. I don't have a pic of the bolt, but here's a pic after the install.

Thanks. This is the route I am going to go with. Is that C5? I am putting it on a C6 Grand Sport. I will still have to cut out the plastic mesh for the 2" to come out from the metal support. Thanks again.

You can buy the front crash bar for the C6 that has the tow hook receiver already mounted and it will fit in the grill by taking the removable piece out. I am not sure what is involved in replacing the front crash bar. Other wise its using one of the many available ones that are on the market. The European export cars are supposed to have tow hooks from the factory installed.
