Heel/Toe is the best feeling in the world when you finally learn it for sure.....but for the guys that don't get to the track as much or the newbie that wants to be fast right away the Auto-Blip is a great drivers aid

Hello Everybody, what kind interest is there in the Autoblip for your Manual transmission Corvette's that see track day duty? RDP Store gives two thumbs up to the AUTO-BLiP. IT is a really slick unit and very effective on the track.

It is a new patent pending electronic device that will automatically blip (open) the throttle when downshifting gears on an automobile equipped with a manual transmission and an electronic accelerator pedal system. AUTO-BLiP works by monitoring your automobile’s accelerator pedal position sensor (TPPS), brake pedal, and clutch pedal, and only blips the throttle when both brake and clutch pedals are pressed simultaneously. AUTO-BLiP reduces mechanical wear and tear on manual transmissions, improves vehicle stability when downshifting gears, and eliminates the need for the heel-and-toe driving technique.

I mounted mine right above the trunk release button. Works out great, looks good, and makes it super simple to switch on and off at the track.

Just did my first track day at Thunderhill with the auto blip and it definitely works as advertised. A great mod for those of us that have 2 left feet.

From all our research and our wide spread customer base that uses them, it is legal across the board. This does not make the transmission a sequential which does inquire weight penilties in likes of SCCA and NASA

I use it on the track (Watkins Glen). 2007 Z06. What it does it allow you to worry about other things, instead of heel-toe. Now I can focus on my braking, release, shift and turn-in and not blipping the throttle. So in that sense, it has improved my times and let me focus on other areas to improve. It also never misses and is adjustable (delay and amount of blip). I have some video I can post if it would be helpful.

no I'm familiar with how it works, just curious on lap times. What have your improvements been?

Reason I think it would be better for non newbies is the stuff you lost but would love to hear time differences.

When I installed it, I had also installed other modifications to the car, making a direct before/after comparison difficult. On a 2 minute and change lap at Watkins, I would say it is worth half a second or so all else being equal. But for a person who can already heel-toe perfectly every single time lap after lap in racing conditions, I would guess the difference is negligible. I am a marginal heel-toe guy. Means I could execute it successfully 5 out of 6 times. It was that "6th" time (an error on my part) that ruined my lap. The blipper never fails, so in one sense it is a preventative item and takes a potential mistake (variable) out of the equation. Because it is adjustable, it can be fined tuned for the driver, car and track.

So now I don't have to even think of heel-toe and can focus on improving other areas of my driving (which has lowered lap times) and completely avoid a miss heel-toe mistake.
