Sorry to see him without a top level ride for so long, sorry to see him leaving F1, but not surprised.
Doubt he'll be making a return, but you never know. Look at Kimi!

Hope he comes to Indycar full time. It would be interesting to see if the '19 indy car schedule and the WEC schedule conflict.

I've heard that explanation before, but it seems very hard to believe.
Does a "normal" F1 driver have a Size 6 and Hulkenberg has a size 23 like Shaq?

I blame it ALL on Ron Dennis.
Instead of using MB's awesome powerunit, he decided he wanted his "own" manufacturer.
How did that work out for ya, Ronnie?
Doubt he'll be making a return, but you never know.
Unless one of the Big 3 calls, I think he's done with F1.

If he did, it would only be long enough to win the Indy 500 IMO.

He actually is doing a full WEC next season?

Hulman & Company lead by Mark Miles, confirmed that McLaren is indeed looking to enter the Indy championship next year, and that the entry procedures are being finalised.

Likely and I wouldn't have a problem.

This past season yes and they actually moved some dates around so he could run Japan which cost several the chance to run Petit Lemans and Japan

I don't think anything has been made public about next season one way or the other

Alonso has a commitment for the three WEC Super Season races with Toyota in 2019, but only one or two would conflict with his IndyCar schedule.

Michael Schumacher moving to Spain:
http://gptoday.com/full_story/view/6...ving_to_Spain/
I have no idea what this means concerning Michael's current medical condition.

Sainz to McLaren?
http://gptoday.com/full_story/view/6...ement__report/
This seems to be in the bag to me.
McLaren absolutely needs a better driver than Vandoorne on the team next season.
If someone better comes along, I expect the Belgian will be gone.

The famous Austrian hypercaloric drink manufacturer located in the city of Mozart did not exercise his option on Carlito. Sainz jr has just announced to prefer the natural, organic orange papaya to the adulterated drink of RBR for 2019, quid of the fate of the pale Belgian Vandoorne ? As a result, Pierre Gasly should be expected to start alongside Crashtappen. Quid of the transparent Hartley ?

A spanish replaces an other...Carlito can say merci for the lobbying of Zozo in his favor.

In other words Carlos traded fine wine and superior food for warm beer ane deep fried carp, while the mechanical bull is still waiting for it's young steeds' testes to drop.

THAT, sir, is the BEST summary I've read in a LONG time!

BTW, all the blather about Alonso to Penske doesn't make sense to me, at least for this first year. He's been aligned with Andretti Autosports so far: I see no reason he wouldn't continue with them.

Have a good one,
Mike

Nicely done...

And how ironic his fate turned while on an ordinary skiing holiday.
The man had stared down Death many times during his racing career.

Just like the impact of Kubica's accident had on what F1 drivers do in their spare time, so has been the case with hitting the slopes after what happened to Michael.
Never take life for granted, never say it can't happen to you...because it sure the hell can.

Agreed.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if McLaren and Andretti form a joint partnership around FA.
McLaren Engineering could be a big help to Andretti's bunch.

It would be really interesting to see how McLaren deals with a restricted (compared to F1) series like Indy car. Aero parts all having to be approved would be the biggest thing. Tires, engines are already pretty restricted in F1, so the only real area for innovation would be in suspension, and that probably has more restrictions than I know of.

He'll certainly bring a lot more attention to a series that's finally got its feet underneath it.

Have a good one,
Mike

I believe this centers around rumors Honda is not wanting to work with Alonso. Penske is a Chevy team in the Indy Car series.

Considering their current situation in F1, I think it will be greatly welcomed by them and a relief. Plus, Zach Brown is no stranger to IndyCar. With McLarens driver lineup for next year and ongoing woes, I don't know how much longer they can hold on in F1 as a team. I'd like them to be around for a lot longer, but I can see them falling like Benetton, Jordan, Brabham, Minardi etc etc..

I don't know what their financial situation is at the moment but they have been bleeding money since the latest powerunit regs came in.
It would be an incredible story should McLaren go down over these regs.
F1 is a sick series right now and needs a massive overall IMO.

Their financial situation remains strong and the majority of the funding comes from the Bahraini Sovereign wealth fund, also the majority share holder. They are commited to F1.
