“Although we take great pride in having grown Formula One’s visibility and viewership since we became its exclusive U.S. media rights holder in 2013, this will be our last season with the series. In this case, we chose not to enter into a new agreement in which the rights holder itself competes with us and our distribution partners. We wish the new owners of F1 well.”

I just hope they keep the 4 Amigos together.
IMO, they do a terrific job.

Was just told in an email from a contact at ESPN that its 2018 F1 coverage will use the world feed, and the commentators supplied by F1 for that feed.
That means the NBCSN F1 studio and pit lane reporting team will not be transitioning to similar roles at ESPN due to the use of the world feed.
I also believe, based on the the math, the 125 hours of live coverage mentioned in the release lines up with 125 hours of on-track activity, which would preclude pre and post-race shows, etc.

You can find it on Youtube. People will upload each session (P1, P2, P3, Quali, lots of shows up to this point, and then the race and post-race shows), but the races don't normally last long. The practice sessions and mid weekend shows Youtube doesn't seem to care about. But races always seem to get taken down within a couple days.

Lucky you...I wish I was going this year again.
IIRC, there are a couple of guys on the thread going.
Look back thru the pages and you should spot them.

Clarification on "world feed"

3rd paragraph now sounds like ESPN is going to supply their own commentary team.

I'm very partial to the current broadcast team...
Hobb's sense of humor and history is great.
Matchett's grasp of the tech and his connection to current paddock personnel (and Alan Permane in particular) is very insightful.
Will's aggressive (without being too much so) interviews are terrific.
By being a former racer, Diffey's knowledge is impressive and he is rarely mystified by what is happening on-track.
I just hope ESPN recognizes this talent (as NBC did) and brings them over...they will help the broadcasts.
