C6 ZR1 with larger ZR1 axles. Direct bolt in. There will be a write up on that here soon. Absolutely impressed with the system and its ability.

Pretty important part came in today. Delighted to say it was .2 under our target weight of 16lbs. MOi should be very nice with this in addition to the improvement in shifting.

This is not anything tilton offers in a package form. After some research and taking measurements, we have all of the parts including the release bearing. Cost is just over 1850$

Things you can do, or not do wit this unit:

  • Dont drive it in the trailer
  • keep starts and stops to a minimum
  • do not slip it much
  • its better to spin the tires than it is to slip the clutch
  • saves 44lbs
  • run at your own risk
  • Idle will need tuning

knock out the air bags too, they are heavy. Side windows and regulators? Hud (not much, though)? All that carpet and panels do add up.

Had a little excuse to put some more light weight parts on. The best kind! Rotational, unsprung! A nice 7lb drop. Not too bad!

They asked me to add a 1" lip on the bottom of the top side of the splitter to define the "air dam"

We moved to TT3, so it doesnt matter. As for it being "illegal" sure, if it was run that way in competition, however it wasnt.

do you prefer Tilton over the off-the-shelf Quartermaster 5.5" setup? It looks like the weight would be very similar. I keep running the same thing as it has served me well, although a lot of people seem to like the 7.5" rally setup

We have a really good relationship with Tilton, and thus use them exclusively. They make a race 7.5", and a race 7.5" with a 160T flywheel so you can lower the motor and not have the fllywheel be the lowest part.

I have no objections with QM, but they are not my go to clutch company.

Costas dropped this off the other day, no mistake the nickname has stuck lol

We decided to pull the ls6 and put in an LS2, but upon tear down of the used ls2, we realized we had a bigger problem. A simple short block change has snowballed, lucky our engine partners at Horsepower Research are able to get us going with a new Trans Am spec ls2. Why trans am spec? Well, more to come on that later. We will still have to define to 280hp again, so it doesn’t much help for NASA, but future plans made this engine a no brainer.

This was the broken ringland bore, at .005 over. Ugh. Had to take it all the way to .010 over. Be careful buying used engines. Thankfully we opted to tear it apart and clean before install, and this is exactly why.

Wiseco shelf piston, stock cube, slight dome, 12:1 compression.

Making a buck for a diffuser. We were about 6-8mph down on top speed, largely due to the lack of power. However we had a lot of wing in it at COTA, and we should pick up 2-3 mph from this diffuser, and being able to remove some wing.

New splitters- added 3” (7” total now) and have some spares. We hope to have a carbon version for testing in a few weeks, as it has indicated it will save just shy of 16lbs.

This is a nice surprise. Centrally located heater box, but high and heavy!

For this 5 minutes, yes. Planned side exhaust when time is available.

Why not do exhaust through the license plate area to push air under the splitter and above the diffuser?
