Default A Street wheel width

I own a stock base C6. I am thinking about buying new wheels to be faster. Can I put wider wheels, or will this bump me out of AS class? From logical point of view, I should be able to go wider, because factory wheels on C6 Z06 are wider. But rules are not very clear to me on this.

Or should I just ditch my car and go for C6 Z06 or something else?

Wider wheels are not allowed in AS. You can only go +/-1" on the diameter. C5Z, C6GS, and C6Z are all three better car options for the class, especially since you only have a base C6 and not the C6Z51.

I do have C6Z51. Although Z51 doesn't help with narrow tires in front.

So update/backdate rule is not applicable to AS?

The Z06 is a different model so it doesn't apply. You would have to turn your entire car into a Z06, which isn't possible.

I recently switched from a C6Z51 to a C5Z06. I'm definitely doing better in the Z06 now that I've adjusted.
