RLI had great customer service and response time. Had a check for the full value of the car less deductible in 4 days. They viewed the photos of the car, sent someone out right away to assess the damage themselves and cut the check for it.

Big crashes are an interesting ordeal regarding accident and health insurance when someone is injured or suspected to be injured as was the case with my wife.

RLI does have a time trials selection and it's only slightly more expensive than their HPDE insurance so next season I will be using that. I am going to look into Open Track as well and consider purchasing for the entire season of HPDE which seems to be very cost-effective.

check that the insurance company covers the specific event(s) you will be attending, Many only work with specific clubs/tracks

Opentrack is stated value and it's time boxed. You get coverage for one year and can do unlimited events at any of the tracks they have listed on their site. We do about 35 track days a year and this was a much better deal than a pay per event model.

I'll also give a big thumbs up to ontrack, they are racers and know what's what. You can mention things like blend line, corner weighting, and meatball flag and they know what you are talking about. You won't have to explain what an HPDE is.

Lockton and I've already had a claim due to another's driving error, and the claim process was positive . I use it at every track event because I don't control how others drive!

I have tried to use the Lockton website to get a quote. IT IS TERRIBLE!! Cannot save all the car mods on it. I have input mods 5 times this am and it will not save them for the quote. Going elsewhere.

I've had a good experience with Lockton and RLI. I'm using opentrack now because it's about the same per year and I don't have to worry about setting it up for every event. One and done.

Had a claim with Haggerty/RLI. Original damage estimate came to $13.3K. I had $7K deductible. After starting work a couple more things were found that needed replacement. Body shop submitted bills and the insurance company picked up the tab.

Incident happened on Friday afternoon, I got the car home on Saturday, called Haggerty on Monday morning and told them the body shop where I was taking the car. Called body shop and dropped car off the next day. Insurance adjuster showed up two days later and worked with body shop mechanic to develop estimate. The claim was approved on Friday and I sent RLI authorization to pay the body shop directly then called body shop to authorize them to start work and copied them on everything I had sent to RLI. Everything worked out fine. Got car back before Thanksgiving and it is in excellent shape with the Expel Coating being reapplied this week which RLI also covered even though I didn't put it down as a mod to the car.

I've been using OnTrack, GREAT customer service. Fortunately I haven't had to file a claim thus far.

I have the yearly OpenTrack policy...(www.opentrack.com) no limits on number of track days ... excellent customer service! Others have had zero issues with claims (as seen on rennlist.com)

A yearly policy is a great peace of mind when I'm tracking my 70k+ car..

No but I'm down at VIR 3-4 times a year instructing with PCA-Potomac and Audi-PCC. Let me know if you're ever signed up for one of their events so we can meet up. It's fun meeting forum folks.

I signed up with THSCC for the 23-24 this month, and I am planning on singing for PCA First Settlers for May 24-26. I may do NCM in April as well, not decided yet.

Haggerty/RLI here as well. C7 is worth more than I care to walk away from. Funny thing is I had way more into my C5 ST2 race car, but couldn't insure for W2W racing. Doing TT in the C7 this year and will insure for that too. I value the car at $40K. Nice to get some money back in a worst case scenario vs. being SOL.

I would be sure that the value on your car is a true value. I know from insuring other items that if you only insure for say 80% of value then you'd only get 80% of the 40,000 you had it insured for. Best bet is to ask your agent.

I used to be an insurance adjuster and am well versed in the industry. A 2014 C7 Z51 with 56K miles is a high $30K car currently. Add a few mods and it's a $40K car. Regardless it's a stated value policy... I could insure it for $5 if I so desired.

I've used Lokton for years. had my first and only claim in 2016. They were excellent throughout the process. Once the car was in the shop of my choice. additional issue were found that nearly doubled the original estimate. Lokton didn't question any of it and paid for all the additional work promptly. My regular car insurance carrier should be so good!

Well I went with open track 12 mos. policy. I plan on at least 10 events this year. It was 4672.00 with a stated value of 80000.00. The policy also included damage to track property of up to 1mm. Also, the deductible was 5% not 10%.When i tried other options it looked like 502 to 599 with a 10%. I sure appreciate everyone's input. I would not have known what the likely best options were.
