Tnx @badhabit_wb for the info. I bought the memory saver thingy that plugs into the cigarette lighter. Hopefully that will prevent the error codes. I also purchased the battery tracker from @Antigravity and will keep track of my current battery charge characteristics for a week or so before I install so I can compare it to the Lithium one when I install it. I’ll keep you all posted as well on how it goes...

Thanks. I put the battery tracker on last week. They told me the voltage was the main thing and not to worry about battery percentage. Mine has been steady in the 13.28 range.

+1, they are of same form factor, so it is as easy as replacing the old one with another OEM battery. The battery was very heavy, and it does not directly come out, vertically. I managed to get it out with my hands, but it was very hard; I'd not want to do that again : )

No codes, etc.; everything has been working seamlessly. I do have CTEK's LiIon charger, and topped it off every once in a while (I do not leave it connected). Since you live in Florida, I presume you can get to drive your car every once in a while, which would also keep the battery topped off.

My car already had the rear carpet and trim out of it so removing the old battery was really easy. It might be worth pulling up the rear carpet to do this. I did use some velcro straps to hold the wires going to battery out of the way while I pulled the battery. I didn't have any issues with codes and didn't use a maintainer.

Thank you very much Gentleman for the feedback. I just got the battery and will install in few days. Yeah I drive all the time so no problems keeping it charged.

Who else can hold their battery in one hand 😂

Hi Poor-Sha...

Question for you... How much are you annoyed by the GrandSport gearing at the track : the 2nd is a little too short, the gap between 3 and 4th, and the 5th gear way too long ?

Would you consider putting a Z06 transmission ? This is something I'm considering for the future....(After I get my cam installed). The issue will be that the first 3 gears will be longer, so 600HP+ will probably be necessary but the overall spacing is better IMHO.

If you plan on putting a Katech 700HP engine this would make sense I think

Curious to have your input....

3-4 is fine but the shorter 2nd and taller 5th make the GS essentially a 2-gear car on most tracks. I don't think you need more power with the Z06 gearing unless you are concerned with 0-60 times. On track the higher 2nd will be useful as will the shorter 5th even with stock power. My plan was to put the Z06 gears in my transmission but now I'm going with a sequential transmission. It's a 6-speed with much shorter gearing and should max out around 190 MPH in 6th.

Merry Christmas

Yep glad to see you think the same as me... Even on mountain roads, the longer 2nd gear will be usefull....I Completely don't care about 0-60 ... You're doing the Katech 6 speed sequential then ? Man it's gonna be fun

Now we're talking!

I also dropped by TPC Racing / DSC Sport to get a shock upgrade. I'm going with the new RTs shocks that are shorter to provide more suspension travel on a lowered car.

No, it's a V16. Do you think we can fit it in?

Poor-sha, any idea how much weight you’re going to drop with the new power train? Sequential should be much lighter, not sure about the motor. Also, what headers are you going to use, or did I miss it in the build? I believe Jason used Kooks that were made specifically lighter for him.

Yeah, I rarely use second. I can only think of two places I do at my local track, and even then I don't need to. There is just a decent straight that is uphill so I do.
At COTA I did, but Cota is a retarded track for street cars. You basically come to a complete stop before going into the main straights.

I don't know that the sequential itself will be any lighter but it will have a lighter flywheel and clutch. I'll also have the lightened Kooks headers and x-pipe as well as removing the AC system. I don't know what the total weight savings will be though. We'll see.

Sequential looks so bad ***. This vid says 100 lbs lighter than a DCT, but not a good comp.

I’ve run with several Cup cars at Sebring. Their acceleration out of slow turn 7 is unreal considering they have under 500 hp. 2700 lbs helps too
