Check out my bedded rotor pattern
Brand new Girodisc front rotors, and used Carbotech XP12 front pads. The pads were used for 3-weekends events, and still has about 5mm pad thickness (without the packing plate). Prior to installation, I checked the brake pads surface with a straight edge, and they looked even.I bedded the rotors per Girodisc posted instruction on their website. After the bedding process, both rotors have brown rings on the outer and inner edges.
Why do the rotors have brown rings on the inner and outer edges?

Because you did not use new pads. You can use an old pad but it is suboptimal. New flat square pads touch new flat rotor surface 100%. Anything used will have small gaps until the pads and rotors wear together.
As a racer I started as a rule follower then became a sinner. I found no value in bedding pads or seasoning rotors or 1 heat cycling Hoosiers to gain more rubber stability and max speed or gentle engine break-in procedures to seat rings. I just put new stuff on or build new motors and take them to task.
