C7 GS airbag light during track use
Anyone experience the airbag light coming on at the track? I was at Auto Club Speedway (ACS) two weekends ago and during 3 of my 4 sessions the airbag light popped on. Checked the under seat connectors and all are snug. Drove the car for the last week on the street and no light. ACS has some areas where the car moves around a fair amount so perhaps just from the bumps? I need to double check the front impact sensors as well but after that I'm out of ideas short of taking it to the dealer.
100% stock, except Carbotech pads (XP12 / XP10) and NT01 tires. I'm using the stock seat and seat belt as well.

Thank Ernie. I'll be out again in a few weeks so we'll see what happens. All the connectors look/feel good and no issues on the street so just another one of those "mysteries of the universe" I guess.

I had this issue with my '16 Z51. It turned out to be the wiring of the retracting seat belt component on the seat was sandwiched between the seat rail and the seat, and it started short circuiting whenever I put too much weight, which happened during hard rights. Once I figured it out, the fix took a few minutes.
You should start with reading the OBD codes to see what exactly causes it.

Not sure what "hit the banking" means as he obviously ran on the curb (kerb for any Europeans reading this). I guess Jalopnik does not require their writers to actually be familiar with racing circuits. No surprise I suppose. Fake news & all.
False airbag deployment IMO should be a more serious issue than it is.
