Default Attention all VA racers

There is a new track in town, actually they are getting ready to build it in New Kent. It was approved the other night. It is on 616 acres and the track is 2.65 miles. They are also going to build a autocross track and a karting track. This is awesome, it is only about 30 minutes away for me.

If you build it, they will come........ Or at least I will, A LOT!!!! If there were a decent road course that close to me I do believe I would be house poor.

Hopefully it will not take a long time to build. I would think 6mo to a year and they would have it done. Man this is awesome news.

I live in northern Richmond so VIR is over a 2 hour drive. The proposed track site would be less than 30 minutes away. That allows for not having to pack the world up to go to the track and not having to get a hotel.

I predict it will be complete in 2 years. Mark my words.

BTW, is this "Dragon's Ridge" that got cancelled due to zoning last year?
Must have greased some palms to get it passed in round 2 if it is...

Interesting reading. Two things popped out for me. One was the 65 db avarage hourly limit. Of course racing does not occur 24 hours per day. ( ok it does at Lemans, Daytona, and SPA )

the other was that the Sunday hours of opporation were from 12:00 Noon to 6:00 PM - so much for sunday morning driving schools or qualifing times.

But hey one more track to on Yah got my

FWIW, VIR is a little over 120 miles from Richmond. Now that I live in MD, I'm really excited about a new track in the Richmond area. Especially since my parents live there and I'll have free room and board

I can't wait
